Independent from the start and still firmly rooted in hospitality, WATG is a global multidisciplinary design firm attuned to the unique needs of destination design. Comprised of five collaborative studios—Strategy, Planning, Architecture, Landscape, and Wimberly Interiors—WATG has been designing landmark destinations since 1945, shaping timeless spaces and places that span the globe. We are a team of 400 creative professionals across three continents with offices in Southern California, Honolulu, New York, London, Singapore and Shanghai.
The London office of WATG is hiring Architectural Designers.
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Architectural Designer position at WATG provides design and technical support to the architectural projects within the Studio. This role is responsible for assisting in the development of the project design, production of presentation drawings, sketches and construction documents as well as correcting and updating drawings. This individual must have strong designs skills and be able to demonstrate creativity and good design judgement.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Assists with development and implementation of project design concepts
- Preparation of presentation standards, drawings and reports
- Drawing production support at all stages of the design process
- Draft and amend concept, detail and technical designs
- Supports follow-through of initial design through completion of construction
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 2-3+ years experience in designing mid-size to large scale commercial architectural projects
- Hospitality experience desired
- Part II qualified (or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, and SketchUp a must, Rhino also highly desirable
- Proficiency with the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, InDesign) desired
- Design talent focus for concept/schematic stages
- Good presentation skills are required
