Position Overview & Specifications

Plan International UK is a global children’s charity. We strive to advance children’s rights and equality for girls all over the world.

Working together with children, young people, our supporters and partners, we're tackling the root causes of gender inequality and child poverty, and we are now active in more than 70 countries worldwide.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Policy and Advocacy Manager to lead our work on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR). The post holder will drive our influencing of the UK Government, in particular the FCDO, on its commitments to adolescent SRHR around the world. The role will also work with colleagues across Plan International to ensure impactful engagement around the Global Forum for Adolescents in October 2023, and that young people have an opportunity to have their voices heard by decision makers.

In this post you will deliver Plan International UK’s role as the UK partner in the successful Countdown 2030 Europe consortium, working closely with a dynamic group of consortium partners led by IPPF European Network.

The role is part of a wider Policy, Advocacy and Research team and will contribute to ongoing work to take an actively anti-racist and feminist approach to aid and development.

We offer a working environment based on Plan International UK’s organisational values and feminist leadership principles, which are designed to help everyone who works with us to achieve our ambitious goals for children: a just world that advances children’s rights and equality for girls.

We, therefore, apply rigorous recruitment and selection processes to ensure that only those who are suitable are recruited to work for us. Accordingly, appointment to all our roles is subject to a range of vetting checks and Enhanced Disclosure and Barring (DBS) check with barred list check.
